Delaney L. Miller, Esq., is Schwimer Weinstein’s Senior Trial Counsel. He began his legal career in Seattle, Washington, in 2001, was later admitted to practice in Oregon in 2006 and California in 2015. Mr. Miller’s entire legal career has been devoted to litigation and the vast majority of his work experience has involved representing plaintiffs in personal injury, product liability, toxic torts, and property damage cases. He has tried several cases to verdict, including trials in all three states where he was admitted to practice. At Schwimer Weinstein, Mr. Miller focuses his practice on assisting clients in litigation matters, including personal injury and employment cases.
Navigating the Court System to Obtain Justice
As insurance companies continue to deny obvious liability and undervalue the injuries of those whose lives are impacted by the negligence of others, plaintiffs must seek justice through the court system. Since 2001, Mr. Miller has counseled clients on how to effectively navigate their cases through the judicial system in order to obtain the best compensation available to them. He understands that quality results are not obtained by waiting for insurance companies and corporations to step up and do the right thing. Instead, Mr. Miller believes effective representation of his clients requires diligence and a pro-active approach to litigation. He also knows that sometimes a client’s only means of obtaining fair compensation is to seek justice through a jury trial.
Driven to Succeed by a Desire to Help
Based on more than 15 years of legal experience, Mr. Miller has witnessed firsthand the economic inequalities that give powerful insurance companies leverage against individuals who are injured by the negligence of their insureds. Mr. Miller seeks to level that playing field by applying sound litigation strategies aimed at helping his clients attain the outcomes they deserve. He appreciates that his clients need his help to understand the litigation process and to know what to expect. Mr. Miller is driven by his desire to help clients who need his assistance because they have been injured or have lost their job.
More Than Just a Lawyer
Beyond the practice of law, Mr. Miller has also been active in assisting nonprofit organizations that aim to improve the lives of children and disadvantaged communities. He was the founding board member of Active Children Portland (www.acportland.org), which offers after-school programming to elementary school students with a mission is to empower students to lead healthy lives, succeed academically, and inspire positive community engagement. While living in Seattle, Mr. Miller was active on the board of directors of Seattle SCORES, another nonprofit that provides free after-school programming for young students. He has also served as a volunteer soccer coach and organized free youth soccer camps. Delaney was born and raised in Charleston, West Virginia. He currently resides in Playa Del Rey with his wife, Kelly, and their two dogs.
